Sommerschulen

Die Abteilung für Sozialanthropologie organisiert regelmäßig Sommerschulen, sowohl in der Schweiz als auch im Ausland. Ziel dieser Sommerschulen ist es, die methodologischen und theoretischen Kenntnisse der Studierenden in die Praxis umzusetzen, in Form von Feldforschung zu verschiedenen Themen. 

 

INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL IN SOCIAL ANTHROPOLOGY initiated, coordinated, and organized since 2012 by Dr. Andrea Boscoboinik (UniFR) and Dr. Melinda Dincă (UVT) in the frame of the Inter-University Convention 80099/10.07.2000 between Fribourg University (UniFR) and the West University of Timișoara (UVT).

 

In Switzerland:

2024 – 9th Edition – Cohabitation with the Other-Than-Human Entities: Exploring Human-Wildness Interactions.

17 students from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, the West University of Timişoara, Romania, and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway, have taken part in this teaching program outside the classroom. It focused on the exploration of cohabitation between humans and other-than-human entities through the lens of social anthropology, with a particular emphasis on using multi-sensory ethnography as a research method. It offered participants an interdisciplinary experience in understanding the complex relationships between humans and various non-human entities in the Swiss Alps. 9-16 June 2024.

 

In Romania:

2024 – 10th Edition – Urban anthropology: Exploring Timisoara.

21 students from nine universities in different countries took part in this summer school edition in Timișoara, guided by four teachers from the West University of Timișoara, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, the University of Messina, and the University of Fribourg. During one week, the students became familiar with conducting ethnographic research in an urban setting through international teams. 1-5 July 2024.
