Other languages

The University of Fribourg also offers some language classes outside the Language Center, namely Russian, Polish and Romansh. Unifr Students from other Departments can usually register to these courses, which are recognized as “softskills” courses. Unifr staff and external participants can access most of these courses as listeners – please consult the list of eligible audiences in the course description to see if this is the case of the course want to attend before registering as a listener.

In addition, the Faculty of Theology offers a range of classes in ancient languages. These courses are taught either in German or French, the offer varies on a yearly basis (e.g. Coptic, Ge’ez, Georgian, Greek or Hebrew). You will find the current courses in the course catalogue by searching for “Alte Sprache” or “Langue ancienne”.
