Coskun group published a perspective article in Joule, Cell Press describing the impact of supramolecular chemistry in energy density Li-ion batteries.
Here is the brief information about the article:
"Silicon, lithium metal, and sulfur electrodes with high specific capacities constitute new electrode platforms with great promise in upcoming rechargeable batteries, but suffer from insufficient sustainability over cycling. The adaptive/responsive nature of supramolecular chemistry and mechanostereochemistry can offer useful tools in addressing the shortcomings of these electrodes mainly by controlling the inter-particle interactions via noncovalent/mechanical bonds and employing self-healing mechanism. In this perspective article, Coskun group overviews how new concepts in these chemistries can advance the emerging electrodes and discusses pioneering research efforts in this direction."
