The CSWM in brief

What is the CSWM?

CSWM stands for "Collaborateurs et collaboratrices scientifiques / Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen" and is the public-law corporation of the scientific staff of the University of Fribourg.
This includes:

  • Academic staff
  • Graduate assistants, research assistants and junior researchers
  • Doctoral assistants
  • Teaching and research councillors
  • Lecturers
  • Medical Assistants
  • Senior assistants
  • Research librarians

What does the CSWM?

The CSWM represents the professional and scientific interests of the mid-level employees vis-à-vis the university as well as political authorities and the public. Among other things, it works to secure and improve the working conditions of its members. In addition, the CSWM offers:

  • A point of contact for questions/problems relating to university life.
  • Funding opportunities for conference participation and continuing education stays; subsidies up to a maximum of 1000 CHF
    Continuing education fund
  • Activities to promote (inter-)faculty exchange between mid-level faculty members
  • Opportunities to get involved in university politicsVacancies
  • Funding for innovative ideasAction fund

How does the CSWM function?

The bodies of the CSWM corporation are the General Assembly and the Committee. Furthermore, numerous members are involved in university and non-university committees.
