Biografie

Daniela Anker, PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Bern, Switzerland, since April 2021, is currently a Post Doctoral Researcher at the #PopHealthLab. In her PhD projects she investigated the relationship between blood pressure and frailty in older adults using data from the Lausanne cohort Lc65+ (https://www.lc65plus.ch/), under the supervision of Prof Arnaud Chiolero. She started her PhD in June 2017 at the Institute of Primary Health Care (BIHAM) in Bern and received a Doc.Mobility grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) to continue her training at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. At McGill University she worked at the Surveillance Lab of Prof David Buckeridge on a project aiming at the construction of a frailty indicator in medico-administrative health data from the Province of Quebec. At the #PopHealthLab, she will pursue her research with a focus on frailty and blood pressure, and she will aim at developing her expertise in handling administrative health data and learning to use machine-learning methods. Additionaly, she is supporting research activities related to the study Corona Immunitas (https://www.corona-immunitas.ch/en/), a Swiss-wide research project of seroepidemiological studies which aim at describing the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and the impact of the pandemic in the country.
