Our team will gladly assist you in your research. The library is open to all. Most of our library stock is on open shelves, but you might need to ask the reception desk to access some documents.

• Library IT equipment

  The informatics support for the computers of our public room is available for all students of the Faculty of science and medicine.

  This support is provided by our technician whom you can contact by  e-mail or phone at the number 026 300 92 48.

  If our technician is not available, please point out any informatics issues to the librarian.

   

• Loans

  Use of the library is free of charge. The loan service is open during library opening hours.

  Loan conditions

  DOKPE loan conditions are identical to those of BCU-CENT.

  Exeptions:

  • works with a yellow dot cannot be borrowed and are reserved for consultation on site
  • documents that belong to the DOKPE collection must be returned to the DOKPE
  • when the library is closed for sveral weeks in summer, documents can be deposited in the box before the entrance 

   

• Interlibrary loan

  You can request to retrieve documents from DOKPE in another library or to bring documents from another library to DOKPE. You can find information about requesting a document via the Swisscovery shuttle, postal delivery or interlibrary loan on the BCU page.

• Articles PDF delivery

  Members of the university community can request pdf articles when no subscription is available and the article is not open access.
  Allow a waiting time of a few hours to a few weeks... a request may not even succeed

  • if no library has a paper version
  • if the author does not respond to our request
  • if the review is rare and impossible to locate

  Submit an article to FOLIA now
  We will be happy to answer any questions you may have, whether for information or advice on publications by the scientific community of the University of Fribourg: self-archiving of preprints, deposit of postprints, theses, etc. on the FOLIA institutional server.

• Archiving research data as ORD on OLOS

  OLOS is a national platform for sharing and archiving research data in support of Open Research Data (ORD). OLOS complies with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) as well as with Swiss legislation and European regulations.
