Ich bin promovierter Jurist und assoziierter Forscher am Interdisziplinären Institut für Ethik und Menschenrechte der Universität Freiburg. Ich war langjähriger Studienleiter des Master in Transitional Justice, Human Rights and the Rule of Law der Geneva Academy for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, wo ich von 2011 bis 2016 eine SNF-Professur hatte. Zuvor war ich Oberassistent and der Universität Lausanne sowie Gastwissenschaftler an der New York University, Leiden University und der University of Pretoria. In Forschung und Lehre interessiere ich mich insbesondere für Vergangenheitspolitik und Transitional Justice, Menschenrechte, Rechtsphilosophie sowie politische Philosophie. 2022 ist meine Monographie Transitional Justice for Foxes: Conflict, Pluralism and the Politics of Compromise bei Cambridge University Press erschienen.
