Wellbeing at Work
For whom : Students, Admininistrative and Academic Collaborators
The Wellbeing at Work (WaW) working group has been created in March 2023 at the Department of Geosciences of the University of Fribourg.
WaW is committed to the active promotion of diversity, equity and inclusion to prevent discrimination, harassment and conflict situations in the daily life of the University.
Who? WaW is a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion working group composed of individuals (PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, staff, professors) having different backgrounds.
Why? Every member of the University community has the right to be treated inclusively, respectfully, and equally, irrespective of their background and individual characteristics. It is time to join efforts at the University scale to preventively counteract boundary crossing behaviors and define a culture of respect.
How? WaW aims to foster an environment that raise awareness and communicate on the themes of discrimination, harassment and conflict situations. The group meets twice a month to discuss themes, organize workshops and projects in order gather available information (see Resources below), stimulate discussion and exchange of ideas amongst all members of the University community.
Resources? The goal of WaW is to provide key reference documents and webpage links of contact and advice services. These include services from the University of Fribourg that provide all staff and students with professional support, but also from outside the University.
The Ombuds Office is available to the entire university community and aims to prevent, manage conflicts, to provide neutral and confidential advice and to endeavour to reach an amicable settlement, with no decision-making authority.
On this webpage you can find for instance: contact in case of harassment, the mediation service, descriptions and registrations for workshops, etc.
This department represents the University in all matters relating to human resources. It is responsible for dealing with conflicts between employees and situations related to harassment (OHarc). The service is at the disposal of employees for any information they may require.
The staff of the Espace santé-social consultation centre are available to employees of the Canton of Fribourg as confidants in situations of conflicts, mobbing or sexual harassment at work.
This service offers psychological counselling to all members of the university community.
