RESEARCH & THEOLOGICAL FUNDAMENTALS
Research Profile
The Christian witness must be continually reexamined in every era. We explore forms of Christian thought in a (post)modern, highly technological world—transcending denominational boundaries, avoiding polemics, and embracing hope. Our goal is to: (1) make the treasures of the Christian tradition relevant for the present without falling into misplaced nostalgia, (2) engage constructively with contemporary society without conforming to the prevailing spirit of the age, and (3) remain authentically theological—trusting that God is at work, even as He remains beyond our control.
Contesting Computer-Anthropologies
Contesting Computer Anthropologies: A Theology and Anthropology of Technology for the Digital Age
The Contesting Computer Anthropologies project explores what it means to be human in the digital age, particularly in light of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. The goal is to develop a theologically and philosophically grounded Christian understanding of humanity that is both interdisciplinary and socially relevant.
Renewal of Theology and Church
Renewal of Church & Theology: Expecting God. Valuing Tradition. Shaping the Future.
We are seeking new forms of ecclesiology and theology with a special focus on the relevant contributions of church communities with vibrant spirituality. This also includes exploring ways in which the Christian witness can enrich cultural imagination anew. Ultimately, it is about proactively bringing the church’s voice into the societal debates of our time and engaging in dialogue with other perspectives.
