jEdit is a free and multi-platform software for editing. It permits to easily edit text files and programming codes. It supplies several functionalities, which make a powerful tool. Jabref

Bibliography management could be done optimally thanks Jabref. It is free multi-platform software. It permits to easily integrate lists of references in other documents (word, etc.), particularly in texts composed in LaTeX.
