Team 2020-21

The team representing the University of Fribourg in the 28th Vis Moot.

Team Members

Vincent Nikles is a Bachelor of Law student at the University of Fribourg. After his second year, he completed an internship with a law firm in Fribourg. Vincent is fluent in French, German and English. 

Anja Spahni is currently obtaining her Master of Law at the University of Fribourg. During her bachelor’s degree at the same University, she started working for a public law institution, where she still works today. She is fluent in German and English and has basic knowledge of French.

Lea Müller is in her first semester of obtaining a Master of Law at the University of Fribourg. She obtained her Bachelor of Law at the same University with Bilingual and European law mentions this July. This summer, she interned in a major law firm in Zurich. She is fluent in German as well as in English, and conversational in French.

Nina Bischof is a Master of Law Student at the University of Fribourg. After having obtained her Bachelor's degree with Bilingual and European Law mention at the same University, she gained her first practical experience as a summer trainee in a major swiss law firm in Zurich. Nina currently works at the Chair of Civil Law at the University of Fribourg. She is fluent in German, English, French and Spanish.

Coaches

Isabelle Cordey participated in the Vis Moot in 2014/2015 for the team of Fribourg and is currently interning at the Administrative Court in Bern in preparation for her bar exam. Previously, she worked at Lalive as an arbitration intern and for Professor Pierre Tercier in his capacity as arbitrator. She coached the team of Fribourg for the year 2016/2017 and 2018/2019 and 2019/2020.

Patrick Kaufmann is currently a trainee with LALIVE in preparation of his bar exam. Prior to that he completed an internship with the international arbitration group of Shearman & Sterling in London. Moreover, he holds an LLM from King's College London and has been coaching the Vis Moot team of King's College London for the past two years. 

Victoria Rodriguez Goyena is an Argentine lawyer and recently obtained the LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) in Geneva. Victoria has obtained her law degree from the University of Buenos Aires, her Master degree in Corporate/Business Law in University of San Andres, and she has coached teams for the Willem C. Vis Moot and the Foreign Direct Investment Moot in both universities. She has worked in dispute resolution teams of law firms in Argentina and in the litigation area of the National Ministry of Treasury and now works in the dispute resolution teams of two law firms in Geneva. 

Vanessa M. Constantin is currently working on her PhD thesis on select aspects of the CISG under the supervision of Professor Werro at the Chair for Law of Obligations and European Private Law, where she is also a research assistant. After having completed internships in both Switzerland and the United States, she is familiar with both legal systems. She obtained her Master of Law from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland with two semesters abroad at the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi, Finland, one of the Vis Moot’s founding universities. Having been a participant in the 21st Vis Moot for the University of Lapland, she is now happy to coach Fribourg’s current team. She is fluent in German, English, French and Spanish.

David Schmid currently interns at the Administrative Court in Fribourg. He participated in the Willem C. Vis Moot in 2017/2018 and coached the Team of 2019/2020. David is fluent in German, English and French.
