invites applications for a
PhD Position in Mathematics
in Geometry
The expected starting date is 1 September 2026, and the duration is four years.
Task: The PhD project lies at the intersection of several areas of modern geometry, including metric and systolic geometry, quantitative topology, and geometric analysis, with possible connections to convexity, aspects of symplectic dynamics, analysis in metric spaces, and geometric measure theory. The successful candidate will be integrated into the research groups in Geometric Analysis, Geometry and Combinatorics, Non-Smooth Geometry. The PhD position comes with a competitive salary and a light teaching load in the form of a teaching assistantship.
Requirements: Candidates must have obtained an MSc in Mathematics (or an equivalent degree) before the contract can be issued. Candidates should have a background and interest in geometry, to be detailed in the letter of motivation. A good command of English is required. Knowledge of French or German is an advantage.
