Frédéric Mader
Biography
Frédéric works as a research assistant in the SNF Ambizione project: Raising a Well-Grown Child: Media and Material Cultures of Child Health in the Early Nineteenth Century (https://p3.snf.ch/project-193557) of Felix Rietmann. The project explores how notions of health and illness were articulated in popular magazines and materialized in domestic, medical, and pedagogical practices in German and French-speaking Europe in the early nineteenth century. In his work as assistant, Frédéric focuses on digital databases, analyzing visual sources as well as administrative work for the research project.
Frédéric studied Contemporary History and Environmental Law at the University of Fribourg. As part of this bachelor's degree, Frédéric was at Goucher College (Baltimore, USA). In the Master's program, Frédéric is studying Contemporary History at the University of Zurich and Gender Studies at the University of Bern.
