Julia: A new programming language designed for scientists

Ouvert au grand public Séminaire

Julia is a programming language developped in recent years that target the scientific community. As a consequence, it tries to reach two seemingly incompatible goals: being relatively simple to use, as scientists are rarely extensively formed in the field of computer science, and being highly efficient, as scientific computations are often very demanding in computing power.
In this talk, we present a brief overview of the language and address several core feature that it uses to achieve its goals, simplicitiy and efficiency.
