Psychology & Nutrition: our new collaborator bridging the gap between both disciplines in research and teaching


Dr. Leah Gilbert is an academic researcher focused on maternal and offspring mental and metabolic health, she aims to mitigate childhood obesity risk by exploring the psychological, nutritional, and behavioural pathways involved. Collaborating with international teams in Australia, Switzerland, and the UK, she holds a Master’s in Child and Adolescent Psychology (2016) and a PhD in Life Sciences (2021).

Dr. Leah Gilbert is giving a course on "Interdisciplinary approaches for behavior change and health". It will cover Motivational Interviewing and its application in encouraging healthy lifestyle behavior adoption. Mindfulness will also be explored, focusing on its use in areas such as stress relief and eating behaviors. Finally, James Clear's Atomic Habits, a modern behavior change technique that promotes the formation of healthy habits, will be presented.
