Prof. Dr. Vitus Huber
Director of the Graduate School ProMoRen
The graduate school ProMoRen promotes the interdisciplinary and multilingual exchange of ideas among all doctoral students at the Fribourg Institute for Renaissance and Early Modern Studies (IFR). It is dedicated to the innovative and interdisciplinary supervision and further training of doctoral students. To this end, demand-oriented events are held, which doctoral students can help organise. Participants deepen their expertise in the Renaissance and early modern period (ca. 1450–1800) and expand their methodological toolbox, particularly with regard to skills in interdisciplinary work. Finally, ProMoRen offers opportunities for internal and international networking.
The graduate school is aimed primarily at doctoral students from the 13 departments participating in the IFR. In addition, individual doctoral students from other departments and other universities who are interested in interdisciplinary exchange (in German, English or French) on topics related to the Renaissance and the early modern era may be integrated on a selective or permanent basis.
