DMP no longer required at application stage for SNSF Grants

In what will likely be welcome news for a lot of researchers, the SNSF announced on the 19 April that Data Management Plans (DMP) will no longer be required when applying for SNSF project and career grants. In future, only those researchers whose projects are awarded funding will have to supply a DMP. This new regulation applies to all SNSF calls that begin after the 17 April 2023 as well as this year’s Spark call.

This will lighten the workload of researchers preparing to hand in grant applications. Nevertheless, costs relating to data storage still have to be included in the budget at the time of submission. You can read up on the details concerning this decision here.
