The end of the year is a good occasion to consider the upcoming Open Calls for next year. This is a busy time for the SNSF Transitional Measures with the SNSF Advanced Grant open until 31 January 2024 and the SNSF Starting Grant also closing on 1 February 2024. Please note that the latter is currently an integrative call that covers not only the ERC Starting Grants 2024, but also the previous SNSF funding schemes PRIMA and Eccellenza. Beyond the SNSF, the Swiss Network for International Studies (SNIS) has launched a new call with a pre-proposal deadline on 1 February 2024, and in the Horizon Europe programme several calls come to an end in the second pillar (Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society) in February 2024. Moving on closer to spring, the SNSF Spark call for short term funding for the testing of unconventional ideas is also worth noting (Deadline 4 March 2024). And finally, the new National Research Programmes (NRP) on construction culture and biodiversity have a pre-registration deadline on 29 February 2024 and those on gender medicine and plant breeding on 14 March 2024.
