New Tools for Finding Funding Opportunities
The SPR is committed to helping you find funding opportunities to support your research projects, be they big or small. In the spirit of this we would like to make you aware of two new tools that might be useful for you as you plan your year and think about the next steps ahead in your research journey. Read up on the brand-new SPR podcast and the Pivot-RP search engine for funding opportunities!
Launch of the SPR Grant Matchmaker Podcast
The SPR Team has launched this podcast to help bridge the gap between the plentiful information about funding opportunities you can find online and your personal situation. The types of opportunities that are of interest to you will differ greatly depending on your discipline, career stage, familial situation, future plans, and much more. While the SPR collaborators enjoy giving tailored advice to researchers during in-person meetings, Teams or phone calls, we also wanted to create a service where you would be able to find personalised advice at your convenience.
This is where the Grant Matchmaker Podcast comes in. Here we make available tailored information in bite-size chunks that you can listen to anywhere and at anytime. We are focussing on topics that come up repeatedly in our interactions with researchers. The first episodes include an overview of funding opportunities available to early career researchers, and a short guide to using ORCiD to your advantage. Do get in touch if you have feedback on the podcast or if you would like to suggest topics for new episodes!
Pivot-RP : online training session 11 February 2025
Pivot-RP is an online search tool to find the most suitable funding opportunities for your research projects. There are funding options available for researchers from any field of research. All researchers at the University of Fribourg can use this tool free of charge and can search for opportunities.
You can sign in here by choosing the University of Fribourg from the drop-down menu and then using your SWITCH edu-ID.
The tool’s interface is intuitive to use, so you should be fine to get started right away. Nevertheless, do not hesitate to contact Laurence Fazan at the SPR if any questions or comments regarding this new tool arise.
Alternatively, if you would like to profit from a more in-depth look at some advanced search functions, join us via Teams for our online training session on the 11th of February 2025 at 12.15 pm. A Pivot-RP specialist will introduce the tool’s functions in English and then we will have a Q&A where you will be able to ask questions in English, German or French.
You can connect via Teams to the training session on the 11th of February 2025 at 12.15 using this link.
