Green Faculty

Green Faculty is a concept developed by the Faculty of Science and Medicine of the University of Fribourg. Our objective is to reduce our environmental impact year after year through tangible measures in teaching, research, administration and campus life.

These measures complement those taken by the University and by the city of Fribourg.

To reach our sustainability goals, multiple groups are working on putting in place tangible projects. These groups are:

Consumption and emissions

  • Reduce electricity consumption
  • Reduce water consumption
  • Reduce the emission of gases that damage the environment and the climate

Waste

  • Reduce waste production
  • Management of the production of toxic substances
  • Reduce the consumption of non-recyclable and non-renewable resources

Food

  • Reduce the environmental impact of the food eaten at the Faculty
  • Reduce food waste

Communication

  • Tracking and communication about goals
  • Information to members of the Faculty
  • Information to the public
