Transcripts and validations
Validation package
A validation package is a set of teaching units grouped together. The packages are described in the study plans and must be validated in order to complete a degree programme. For a package to be validated, it must meet the conditions set out in the regulations and study plans.
Cost of validation: CHF 2 per ECTS credit. Upon validation, an invoice is generated on the MyUniFr portal and must be paid for the credits to be acquired.
A validated package cannot be modified (no 2nd attempt, no transfer of credits, etc.).
Once payment has been received, the Dean's Office publishes the document(s) on MyUniFr under ‘Documents’. The transcript(s) of records and the final certificate are also sent by postal mail.
Validation Procedure
- Bachelor/Master of Science and minors : When the conditions for successful completion of a package are met, the MyUniFr portal proposes validation and it is up to the student to request it.
- Bachelor/Master of Medicine : Credits are billed by the Dean's Office for a complete and successful year; students do not need to request the validation. The transcript of records for all credits is generated at the end of studies.
- Bachelor of Science in Teaching at secondary level I: Credits are validated at the end of Bachelor's studies, by teaching subject.
Validation of the first year
It is mandatory that the teaching units of the first year of the Bachelor major be validated at the end of the 4th semester in order to be able to continue your studies.
Detail
- Bachelor of Science: Validation of the 1st year must be requested by the end of the 4 semesters at the latest.
- Bachelor of Medicine: Validation of the 1st year is automatic once the exams have been passed and at the end of the 4 semesters at the latest. An intermediate transcript of records can be provided upon request.
- Bachelor of Science in Teaching at secondary level I: Verification of successful completion of the 1st year must be requested by email to attestations-scimed@unifr.ch no later than the end of the 4 semesters. An e-mail confirming successful completion of the 1st year is sent to the student.
Types of transcripts and certificates
-
Intermediate transcript of records
An intermediate transcript of records is a temporary status report.
You can request an intermediate transcript of records at any time by emailing scimed@unifr.ch.
-
Transcript of records and final certificate
A transcript of records indicates for each teaching unit of the validation package, the result of the assessment and the number of ECTS credits acquired.
The final certificate confirms the successful completion of your studies. It is sent to you by post as soon as all ECTS credits from the program's validation packages have been validated. It serves as an official document until the graduation ceremony.
Transcripts of records and the final certificate must be kept. The grades obtained in the assessments will appear only on the transcripts of records, not on the diploma.
-
Transcript of records translation
An English translation of a Transcript of Records and/or a final certificate can be requested. There is a fee for this service (see Directive on Fees). Programmes taught exclusively in English automatically provide English documents.
