Biografie

Angie Gago is a senior researcher and lecturer at the University of Fribourg. She teaches MA and BA courses on Labour conflicts, welfare regimes and social policy. She was previously a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Lausanne. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Milan, specialising in institutions and public policy. She studies the influence of the European Union on national welfare states, with a particular focus on the analysis of multi-level corporatist relations between governments, trade unions and employers' organisations. She is co-author of Capitalising on Constraint (Manchester University Press, 2021).  Her recent publications have appeared in the Journal of European Social Policy and the Journal of European Integration.
