Description Course content
● Introduction and lecture Day:to international growth strategies
● Introduction to strategic analysis tools
● Students will apply their learnings on real case studies in international strategy
● The lecturer guides students through the process with regular group discussions
● Students present their developed strategies to Geberit’s top managementThe participating company for this year is Geberit
● The globally operating Geberit Group is a European leader in the field of sanitary technology
● Geberit’s portfolio ranges from “in-front-of-the-wall” to “behind-the-wall” sanitary products
● The Group is headquartered in Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland, counting around 11,000 employees in approximately 50 countries
● In 2023, Geberit generated net sales of CHF 3.1 billion, with an EBITDA margin of 29.9%
● Geberit shares are listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange and are part of the Swiss Market Index (SMI)Program
● Introduction and Lecture Day: Tuesday 24.09.2024, 10:15-16:00
● Briefing by Geberit: Friday, 27.09.2024, ca. 10:00-15:00
● First group discussion: Monday, 14.10.2024, 11:15-16:45 (90 minutes per group) followed by dinner
● Second group discussion: Wednesday, 06.11.2024, 09:15-15:00 (90 minutes per group)
● Third group discussion: Friday, 29.11.2024, 08:30-16:30 (120 minutes per group)
● Final group presentations with Geberit’s top management: Monday, 09.12.2024, ca. 10:30-18:00, followed by dinnerTraining objectives General objective
The objectives are to analyze product market segments based on attractiveness, trends, and the company's position to develop and propose growth options.
Subgoals
● To plan and organize an effective group work
● To apply strategic analysis, evaluation, and planning tools in a correct way
● To get the needed information through research
● To carry out a sound analysis
● To develop a concrete and realistic strategy
● To realize a convincing presentationCondition of access The number of participants is limited to 12. Participants will be divided into three groups with different strategic case studies.
Expectations
Participants are expected to prioritize the seminar. They must attend all lectures and sessions and be able to meet the other students in the group.
Application
When registering online, an application must be sent simultaneously by email to the assistant (olivia.andre@unifr.ch). The application should contain contact details, language skills, Bachelor's overall average grade, and Master's average grade of the already received ECTS.
