Alexandre Gachet - Director of Administration

Alexandre Gachet

Alexandre Gachet has been Director of Administration of the University of Fribourg since 2021. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Kansas and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Fribourg. After his studies and a research assistantship in the computer science department of Fribourg University, he carried out postdoctoral research at the University of Hawaii and subsequently headed up numerous IT projects in the banking and insurance sectors, publishing, the advertising industry as well as public administration. In 2012, he joined his alma mater as Director of IT Services, a position he held until 2021.

In his role as Director of Administration, he is involved in the University's multi-year planning process and implements its financial aspects. He is in charge of the University’s financial and accounting processes and is responsible for the central services, which comprise Human Resources, Finances, University infrastructure, University Sport, Archives and various other units.
