Biography

Sofia Canzona (Rome, 1993) started her academic path at the University of Rome (Sapienza), where she graduated in Lettere Moderne (BA) and Filologia Moderna (MA); both of the degrees where obtained with a dissertation regarding Giacomo Leopardi.

In 2022 she completed her PhD in Italian Studies, performed at two institutions: the University of Pisa and the University of Fribourg. Dissertation: an edition, with a commentary, of Pietro Giordani's letters to Pietro Brighenti.

Since November 2023 she is Assistant-Doctor at the Italian department of the University of Fribourg.

Her philological and critical interests lean on the litterature and the epistolography of the XIX century, with particular means to the personality of Pietro Giordani and Giacomo Leopardi.
