Biography

I received my BA in Philosophy from College of Charleston in 2013. Since then I earned three masters degrees: a MA in Applied Ethics (Linköping University), a MSc in Brain and Cognition (Pompeu Fabra University), and a MSc in Biodiversity — specializing in Evolutionary Biology (University of Barcelona). Currently, I am a PhD student at the University of Fribourg Environmental Sciences and Humanities Institute. I am part of a research group aiming to develop ethical principles to guide environmental practice, with my case study focusing on the relation between sensory experience and biodiversity conservation. In addition to pursuing the normative goals of this project, I am keen to collaborate on projects within the fields of sensory ecology and environmental psychology, especially those that can potentially provide useful insights for conservation. My other research interests include the cognitive neuroscience of perception, free will, and psychedelics.
