Biography
Clara Podmore is Senior Lecturer and Head of Unit of Academic Primary Care at the Institute of Family Medicine in Fribourg since 2023. She is a General Internal Medicine specialist and epidemiologist.
She qualified as an MD from the University of Lausanne in 2010 and was a Wellcome Trust Clinical PhD Fellow at the University of Cambridge, UK where she completed an MPhil and PhD in epidemiology on the aetiology of diabetes with Prof Nick Wareham at the MRC Epidemiology Unit. She did her clinical training at the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV), Vidy Source, Department of Ambulatory Care and Community Medicine (Unisanté) and was attending physician at the Morges Hospital.
Her current research focuses on processes related to primary care, namely cancer screening, the role of complementary medicine to reduce antibiotic prescription, quality of care and advanced care planning in primary care.
In addition, Clara Podmore is also a practicing general practitioner/family physician.
