Rahel Jud

Biography

Rahel Jud studied social anthropology and political science at the University of Zurich and Bern, where she completed her Master's degree in 2017. For her master's thesis ‘A Paper Tiger Running Loose: Side Effects of the REDD+ Policy in the Province of Jambi, Indonesia’ she received the recognition prize of the Bern Environmental Research Award. From 2018, she was an assistant at the Institute of Social Anthropology in Bern where she was involved in teaching, supervising bachelor theses and co-organising conferences and workshops, such as the Anthropology Talks.

Rahel Jud is currently a junior researcher at the University of Fribourg. Her dissertation project focuses on transnational repression and how diaspora groups cope with it, specifically the members of the Tibetan and Uyghur diaspora in Switzerland.
