Biography

Matthieu Guipponi joined the University of Fribourg as a graduate assistant and doctoral student in February 2025 in the European Studies department. He obtained his Master's degree in Political Science at the University of Geneva, notably with a dissertation on the impact of meetings between the EU and a eurosceptic national leader on public opinion using a discontinuous regression model.

His doctoral thesis will focus on the impact of different individual determinants on voting choice for populist and radical right-wing parties, and will be supervised by Professor Natasha Wunsch.
