Biography

I am currently a member of the SNSF project (dir. prof. Franz Mali) which is preparing the critical edition, French translation and commentary of the anonymous work Opus imperfectum in Matthaeum.

My research focuses on ancient monastic literature (Eucherius of Lyon, John Cassian, monastic rules), canonical sources and patristic exegesis, as well as the themes of cohabitation and religious identities in Late Antiquity.

After defending my doctoral thesis in classical philology in 2007 (University of Vilnius), I worked as an assistant (2007-2012), then as a doctoral assistant and lecturer (2012-2018) at the Chair of Patristics and Ancient Church History (Faculty of Theology) at the University of Fribourg. In 2019-2022 I was a member of the SNSF-Eccellenza project on religious competition in Late Antiquity, directed by ass. prof. Francesco Massa.
