Open Science

Open Science strives to ensure transparency and good scientific practice. It promotes free access to research publications (Open Access) as well as to research related resources such as data (Open Data), lab notes, methods and metadata. Open Science has the potential of increasing the opportunities for research and innovation collaboration and, in general, of enhancing the efficiency and quality of research. Both the scientific community and the society benefit from Open Access to knowledge and data as well as on the open co-development of methods.

The University of Fribourg has an Open Access Policy in place and expects all members of the University community to adhere to Open Science practices in general. For this purpose the UniFr has in place infrastructures, training services, and financial support with the aim of creating a supportive environment that will promote transparency and reproducibility .
